To all Residents and their Families,
I would like to start by thanking you for continuing to follow measures to help us to prevent COVID-19 from entering our Villages. Our staff are working tirelessly to keep your families safe and their effort is commendable. Our efforts are working and to date we have had no resident cases of COVID-19 in any of our Villages.
With Thanksgiving approaching, we have many families inquiring about family dinners over this coming weekend. For those in Independent or Assisted Living we ask that residents follow the provincial guidelines of no gatherings over six (6) people. This is especially important this fall with the return to schools. Upon return to the Village, residents will be asked to follow standard screening protocol and will be asked to wear masks in common areas for 14 days after returning to protect themselves and other residents.
If you or a loved one lives in Long Term Care in BC please be aware we are still under provincial orders and are unable to have residents venture out for a family dinner. If you or a loved one lives in Supportive Living in Alberta please be aware that Alberta Health Services encourages residents to stay on the property, except in the case of necessity. If you wish to reach out to your loved one on this special day you can schedule a virtual or an in-person visit in one of the designated safe visiting spaces. Please contact your Village to arrange one of these visits in advance to guarantee your spot.
From our families to yours, we wish you all a Happy “socially-distanced” Thanksgiving, and thank you in advance for doing your best to keep our residents, staff, and families safe over the holidays.
