Dear Residents, Families, and Staff:
Today I am writing to notify you that a staff member has tested positive for COVID-19 at Evanston Grand Village in Calgary, AB. Both staff and residents at the Village will be monitored closely while we await direction from Alberta Health Services on whether a formal outbreak will be called.
The outbreak announced earlier this week at Whispering Winds Village in Pincher Creek is also still in effect with both staff and resident cases. Alberta Health Services is working with both Whispering Winds Village and Evanston Grand Village to resolve the outbreaks and take steps to protect the health of all residents and staff.
At this time no other Golden Life Village has any reported cases.
Please be aware that some of the most recent positive cases have been in asymptomatic individuals. These are people that look and feel normal, yet can spread COVID-19. We are reminded how important is it practice social distancing and wear the proper personal protective equipment both at our workplaces and in public. We should only be closely interacting with those in our household, and never anyone else (including family) in accordance with direction from the Provincial Health Officer and Federal and Provincial Governments.
Please be assured that Golden Life is taking additional steps to protect the health of all staff, residents, and families. Please see the attached and updated resident handbook to ensure that you and your family are following the most up to date safety protocols.
