COVID-19 Outbreak, Whispering Winds Village
Dear Residents, Families, and Staff:
We have worked tirelessly to keep COVID-19 away from our Villages. On a daily basis we meticulously comb through all of the information received from our governing health authorities in both British Columbia and Alberta to ensure that we are up to date with the latest guidelines and mandated orders.
We are writing to notify you that there is an outbreak of COVID-19 at Whispering Winds Village in Pincher Creek. An outbreak of COVID-19 is declared when one or more residents or staff are diagnosed with COVID-19 by lab testing. To date, there are two residents diagnosed with COVID-19 at Whispering Winds Village. Alberta Health Services is working with Whispering Winds Village to resolve the outbreak and take steps to protect the health of all residents and staff.
At this time no other Golden Life Village has any reported cases.
Please be assured that Alberta Health Services and Golden Life are taking additional steps to protect the health of all staff, residents, and families. Golden Life has already implemented control measures and further enhanced control measures are being put into place as directed by Alberta Health Services. Both staff and residents at the Village will be monitored very closely, with testing and isolation as appropriate.
This is a difficult time for us all. We are grateful to those staff who have risen to the occasion and are committed to the care and well-being of our residents during this challenging time.
