Essential Visitors Only
Golden Life is taking additional precautionary measures as COVID-19 evolves to assist in the prevention of transmission of the virus to our staff, residents and their families and to comply with new recommendations from our health authorities and government officials.
Effective immediately, we are requiring that only essential visitors be permitted into our Villages.
An essential visitor is defined as relatives who have a loved one who is critically ill.
All essential visitors must comply with active screening measures, and those who fail screening or refuse screening will not be permitted to enter. No other visitors will be permitted to enter our Villages. We ask that other visitors keep in touch with your loved ones by phone, FaceTime, Skype, or other technology. We would be happy to assist with setting up technology and assisting with scheduling as required.
This in turn means that all in person resident and family meetings, care conferences, and events will be suspended until further notice or will be reverted to a teleconference as needed.
To comply with the new regulations for gatherings over 50 people, all independent living dining rooms will be creating alternate arrangements for meal delivery at each village. This will include meal delivery and alternating dining times with additional cleaning and disinfection as appropriate. Other than essential travel such as medical appointments, residents are advised to not leave the Village.
If you have additional questions or concerns about your loved one, please email covid19@glm.ca, and starting March 18th you may call toll free (866) 466-0852 to reach our dedicated COVID-19 communications team.
