Golden Life is taking additional precautionary measures as COVID-19 evolves to assist in the prevention of transmission of the virus to our staff, residents and their families and to comply with new recommendations from our health authorities and government officials.
Five person maximum for activities.
As part of our continued promise to provide the safest environment for both our residents and staff, our policies and protocols continue to evolve as the COVID-19 situation changes. We follow the current mandates set out by the provincial health authorities and effective immediately, group and social activities of more than five residents will be cancelled. Esthetics, non-essential foot care, gift shops, and any other non-essential service where social distancing cannot be complied with must close. Group activities of five or less individuals may continue under the following conditions:
- Only non-symptomatic/non-isolating residents may participate,
- Space must be large enough that all five participants are at least 2 meters apart,
Our dining process will continue with smaller groups, use multiple eating rooms and staggered meal times. In an effort to practice social distancing, we will allow a maximum of 2 people per table. Buffets remain closed and we have discontinued all self-serve. Our tables are free of miscellaneous items such as: condiment baskets, flowers, water pitchers, salt and pepper shakers, etc., including removing tablecloths. We will provide single service packets of condiments directly to residents. As per usual all tables and chairs are disinfected after each meal sitting and all carts and trays used for food service before re-use are disinfected.
Self-Isolation for Residents leaving the Village (Includes Critical Medical Appointments)
On March 25th all residents were informed that any venture out of the Village with the exception of critical medical appointments would result in a 14 day in suite self-isolation. As of today, the in suite self-isolation will extend to those who are attending critical medical appointments such as dialysis. This was not an easy decision, but under guidance of our clinical team it is imperative that everyone abide by these rules. We are confident in our comprehensive screening process and protocols surrounding outside appointments and visitors.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we navigate through this challenging time. Golden Life Management is committed to practicing the highest level of standards to ensure your safety and well-being.
