Hospice

Hospice care is person-centred and strongly responsive to the needs, preferences, culture, and personal values of the resident and their family. A collaborative, interdisciplinary team takes a holistic approach focusing on the physical, social, spiritual, and practical needs of the resident.

In addition to our care services, the environment is designed to create a place where the most nurturing attributes come together to support both the resident and their families. Six private suites, equipped with comfortable beds, cuddle chairs for families to stay the night, private ensuites and small kitchenettes all have access to their own private, covered balcony with serene ocean views. In addition, residents and families have access to beautifully appointed lounges, family-style kitchens, and private quiet spaces for reflection or private discussions.

In partnership with residents and their families, we develop a plan of care that reflects each resident’s personal values and wishes resulting in meaningful end-of-life care that matters most to them. Located within the Hospice neighbourhood are the offices of Comox Valley Hospice Society staff and volunteers. This collaborative partnership will enhance the support for clients and their families during their end-of-life journey including providing education and bereavement support.
