New Bistro Lounge opens for residents in seniors village
Cranbrook, BC — Residents of Kootenay Street Village are enjoying an exciting new dining experience with the opening of the Wild Horse Bistro Lounge. The new dining options complement the existing Harvest Dining Room where residents have a choice of three course, home cooked, meals, served in a cozy room with a fireplace and fantastic views of Fisher Peak.
The Wild Horse Bistro Lounge offers a custom crafted menu featuring locally inspired options such as the Kootenay Street Bourbon Burger, the Cranbrook (Chicken) Strip, and the Platzl Plate. Whether relishing a full meal, joining friends for snacks and happy hour, or just coming down to watch the big game; the hand selected wine, beer, and spirits menu is sure to be a great accompaniment.
Designing pubs and lounges within Golden Life’s senior Villages is one of its new initiatives to enhance the resident dining experience. Each evening residents will have over 10 meal selections served in one of two dining venues each with their own style and flare.
“We are extremely excited to officially open the Wild Horse Bistro Lounge. Our manager Kyle and his dining team have done an exceptional job and every menu item we’ve tried has been incredible! Our pubs are more than delicious food and drinks, they are relaxed, beautifully designed spaces, full of friends, camaraderie and laughter. These are spaces where any of us would go to kick back, savour a delicious meal and beverage and have a wonderful conversation in the company of great people – and our seniors deserve that!” says Celeste Mullin, Vice President, “At Golden Life, our mission is to build and operate exceptional seniors living Villages which enable our residents to live their best life. Our pubs are just another layer in our quest to honour this goal and we could not be more thrilled.”
Kootenay Street Village opened its final expansion in January 2021 offering a total of 83 seniors’ independent living suites and 36 long term care beds and is the most recent addition to the Golden Life network of Villages. This is Golden Life’s first Village in the Kootenays that has a pub and it is currently reviewing the opportunity to include pubs in other Villages throughout the area, such as Joseph Creek Village.
“When it was announced that we would be offering a new dining experience at Kootenay Street Village I was ecstatic,” says Kyle Piscopo, Community Manager. “The buzz created in the building from the space is fantastic. You can hear the cheers and laughter before you even enter and I am looking forward to how this new menu will add to our vibrant community.”
